“After finishing 4th on the ladder, the Essendon U16 District team defeated the top team, Melton in a nail biting finish that went into extra time that resulted in a 2/1 win. The game was fast and furious but with all team members contributing we rose to the challenge to get the win.

Big hitter Andrew METZ blew away the opposition 4 minutes into extra time with a way placed shot from the circle to seal the game which then saw a most excited U16 team burst into the club song.

To support the team onto their next big challenge, the grand final, we call on all Essendon members to attend the game and add your voices to the parents of the team members in spurring them on to victory.

Remember, this is the team that didn’t have enough kids to field a side at the start of the season. They got into their mates to join the club and have a go for the fun. Fun is what they’ve played for all season, but now they’re playing for your club, The Essendon Hockey & Essendon Ladies Hockey Clubs.
