Season Officially Ended

7 Sep 2021 by Karen Fogarty

Hello Bombers,
Hockey Victoria have confirmed what you had probably already concluded, the winter hockey season is officially finished. Given the circumstances, HV decided not to award any premierships for the winter competition.
As we all eagerly await the day when vaccination rates means it is safe to recommence some activity, HV are now shifting their focus to the indoor competition scheduled to start in October. They are also hoping to be able to run a free summer competition. Stay tuned.

With the season now formally cancelled our committees and board have some work to do as we conclude our season. Sections will take the required time to tidy up loose ends, plan for how to acknowledge an incomplete season and analyse 2021 profit and loss statements. To that end, it is very important those with outstanding fees make their payments. It is only when we have the full picture of our income and costs that we can make informed decisions about compensation for our members.
Please don’t tune out from hockey news. We will continue to share HV updates, information about summer options, information about meetings / committee formation and other relevant club news.
We gave it a red hot go. Thank you to everyone who contributed on and off field to the 2021 winter season. The games we managed to play were a lot of fun. Looking at current ladder positions we’re already looking forward to 2022 and the opportunity to gather together, have some fun and complete some unfinished business 😉🏑🔴⚫
Wishing you all well as we enter hopefully the last phase of this lockdown,
Karen- on behalf of Essendon Men, Women Juniors and Board.
